Privacy Policy

Your resume is some of the most personal data there is — your whole working life on a page. Here's exactly what we collect, what we do with it, who touches it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

Effective date: 07/05/2026

AdaptiveResume LLC, a Georgia single-member limited liability company based in Marietta, Georgia ("AdaptiveResume," "we," "us"), operates the AdaptiveResume website and service (the "Service"). This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

What we collect

  • Account information: your email address and sign-in data.
  • Content you upload: up to three resumes and, optionally, a PDF of your own LinkedIn profile. These naturally contain your name, contact details, work history, employers, education, and credentials.
  • Your confirmations: your answers during the guided review — which proposed skills and credentials you confirmed, edited, or skipped.
  • Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing metadata; we never receive or store your card number.
  • Usage data: basic technical information (device, browser, pages used) needed to operate and improve the Service.

We never scrape LinkedIn or any other platform. Profile data enters the Service only as a file you export and upload yourself.

The AI never sees your name

Before any of your resume content is sent to an AI model, we separate your personal identifiers — name, email, phone number, and links — from the resume text. The AI works on the de-identified text only, and your identifiers are re-attached only when your final document is assembled. The AI model never receives your name or contact details.

How we use your information

  • To provide the Service: build, review, and deliver your resume and, on the targeted build, your job-posting match read and interview-prep materials.
  • To process payment, provide support, and send service-related messages.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law.
  • To improve the Service through the de-identified learning described below.

Who processes your data for us

We share the minimum necessary data with a short list of providers that process it on our behalf under contract:

  • Anthropic (AI model API): processes de-identified resume text to produce the suggestions you review. API inputs and outputs are not used to train Anthropic's models, and retention is transient.
  • Supabase (database and authentication hosting, United States): stores your account and content.
  • Stripe (payments): handles all card processing.
  • Google (optional sign-in only): used only if you choose to sign in with Google.

These providers may use your data only to provide their service to us. Beyond them, we share information only if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a business transfer — and always subject to this policy. We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it with employers.

How we learn without keeping "you"

To get better at finding what people in your line of work tend to leave off, we keep de-identified observations: confirmed skill and terminology patterns together with the employer name, role title, and work location they came from — never your name or contact details. These observations are retained indefinitely, because they are what makes the Service smarter for the next person in a role like yours. They describe roles and workplaces, not people; they cannot be traced back to you and are not removed when you delete your account.

How we protect it

  • Resume content is stored encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).
  • Sessions are encrypted.
  • Multi-factor authentication is available to every account.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we treat your resume with the care we'd want for our own.

How long we keep things

  • Uploaded source files (your original resumes and LinkedIn export) are deleted after your build completes — 30 days at the most.
  • In-progress review drafts auto-delete after 7 days if a build isn't completed.
  • Finished resumes stay in your account so they're there when you need them — delete any of them on demand from your files, or delete your account and they're removed with it.
  • Purchase and build records are kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account yourself, any time, with a single "delete my account" action — it removes all of your personal data in one step. Two exceptions:

  • financial records held by Stripe (which we're required to retain), and
  • the de-identified observations described above, which contain nothing that identifies you.

We honor CCPA rights for everyone, regardless of what state you live in: the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to get a portable copy, and to never be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email support@adaptiveresume.com and we'll respond within the time the law requires.

No ads, no tracking, no sale

We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising or third-party tracking. We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in and security. That's it today. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

Children

The Service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data.

Where your data lives

We operate in the United States and process data here. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S.

Changes

We may update this policy prospectively, posting a new effective date and, for material changes, giving you notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
