Terms of Service
These are the terms between you and AdaptiveResume. We've written them in plain language because you should actually be able to read them — but they are a binding agreement.
Effective date: 07/05/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and AdaptiveResume LLC, a Georgia single-member limited liability company based in Marietta, Georgia ("AdaptiveResume," "we," "us"). They govern your use of our website and resume service (the "Service"). By creating an account, paying for, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Disclaimer. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
What you're buying
AdaptiveResume is a resume completeness tool. You upload up to three resumes (and, if you like, a PDF of your LinkedIn profile). We identify skills, credentials, and standards you may have left off, and then you confirm, edit, or skip every single item. Nothing appears on your resume without your confirmation. Your finished resume is delivered as a downloadable DOCX and PDF.
The $149 targeted build additionally analyzes one job posting you provide, gives you an honest read of how your confirmed experience matches its requirements, and prepares 25 role-specific interview-prep questions with answer guidance drawn only from the content you confirmed.
What the Service is not
AdaptiveResume is not a job-placement, recruiting, staffing, background-check, or career-counseling service. We do not promise — and cannot promise — a job, an interview, a callback, a salary, or any employment outcome. Hiring decisions belong to employers. See the Disclaimer for the full statement.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is intended for users in the United States; we make no claim that it is appropriate for use elsewhere.
Your account
You're responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate registration information, keep it current, and let us know promptly at support@adaptiveresume.com if you suspect unauthorized use. Multi-factor authentication is available to every account, and we encourage you to turn it on.
Pricing and payment
- The Service is a one-time charge per build: $49 for the base build and $149 for the targeted build. Prices are in U.S. dollars. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal — nothing to cancel, ever.
- Prices may change prospectively; the price shown at checkout is the price for that purchase.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. Your payment is also subject to Stripe's terms.
- You are purchasing the build process and your resulting documents — not any employment outcome. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
If a review doesn't deliver — how we make it right
If your review genuinely finds nothing for you, tell us and we'll make it right. Our make-it-right process, in order:
- First, we rework it with you. Every line in a review can be redone with your notes — most "it missed the mark" cases are fixed here, together.
- If it still isn't right, we'll give you a fresh build on us — a replacement credit to run again (for example with a different or updated resume, or aimed at a different role).
- And if it still isn't right after that, we'll refund you — issued at our reasonable discretion to your original payment method through Stripe.
Separately, refund requests made within 14 days of purchase are honored for builds you have not downloaded.
Fair-use limits: the make-it-right process is available once per purchased build, and remedies may be declined where the pattern indicates use of the review's findings followed by a refund request (the review itself is the paid service). To start, email support@adaptiveresume.com. This policy does not expand the warranty disclaimer or liability limits below.
Your content and your responsibilities
- You own your content. You keep all rights to the resumes, profile files, and information you upload ("Your Content") — and you own your final resume.
- You confirm what's true. The Service proposes items and asks you to confirm, edit, or skip each one. We never add a skill, credential, certification, or experience you have not confirmed. Because you confirm every line, you are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of everything you confirm and of any resume you submit to an employer. We do not check your statements with employers, schools, or credentialing bodies.
- Upload only what's yours. You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content, including any profile file (such as your own LinkedIn profile PDF). Don't upload another person's data without authorization. We never scrape LinkedIn or any other platform — profile data enters the Service only as a file you provide yourself.
The license you give us
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host and process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you, and to improve the Service using the de-identified learning described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for de-identified observations that no longer identify you.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- upload unlawful or infringing content, or another person's data without authorization;
- attempt to use the Service to create false credentials or claims;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service; or
- resell or provide the Service to third parties, except under a separate written commercial agreement with us.
Commercial and organizational use
Bulk and organizational use (staffing, outplacement, workforce programs, or API access) is governed by a separate written commercial agreement. These consumer Terms do not grant organizational rights. If that's you, we'd love to talk: support@adaptiveresume.com.
Intellectual property
The Service — its software, design, text, and underlying methods, but never Your Content — is owned by us and our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. Reference data (for example, O*NET occupational data) belongs to its respective sources.
Disclaimers — "as is"
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any specific employer's applicant-tracking system, or that it will produce any particular result. AI-assisted output may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing your final document.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST OPPORTUNITIES, JOBS, OR INCOME. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE BUILD GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, these limits apply to the extent permitted.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of Your Content, your confirmations, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms — including any claim that information you confirmed or submitted was inaccurate.
Ending things
You can stop using the Service and delete your account and data at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive — your responsibilities, the license, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and governing law — survive termination.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cobb County, Georgia, and you consent to jurisdiction and venue there.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notice to you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
