Terms of Service
These are the terms between you and AdaptiveResume LLC. In plain language: this is a contract between you and AdaptiveResume LLC.
1. Who we are; acceptance of these Terms
The Service at adaptiveresume.com and app.adaptiveresume.com is operated by AdaptiveResume LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("AdaptiveResume," "we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, making a purchase, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Disclaimer, all of which are part of these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service. You can reach us at support@adaptiveresume.com or by mail at AdaptiveResume LLC, 8735 Dunwoody Place, Suite N, Atlanta, Georgia 30350. In plain language: this is a contract between you and AdaptiveResume LLC.
2. What the Service is
AdaptiveResume is a resume completeness tool. You upload up to three resumes and, if you like, your LinkedIn resume export, which is the PDF containing your work experience. Either kind of file alone is enough to start. We identify skills, credentials, and standards you may have left off, and you confirm, edit, or skip every single item. Nothing appears on your resume without your confirmation. Your finished resume is delivered as a downloadable DOCX and PDF. The $149 targeted build additionally analyzes one job posting you provide, lists which of its requirements your confirmed items cover and which have no matching confirmed item, and prepares 25 role-specific interview questions, each showing the posting requirement and the confirmed resume lines it comes from. It does not provide answers, answer guidance, or coaching. Before you purchase a build, you can try two things at no cost. The free scan runs a set of formatting and structure checks on your resume and does not suggest any content. The demo walks you through a sample review using a fictional profile; it does not use any of your information and never contacts our server.
3. What the Service is not
AdaptiveResume is not a job-placement, recruiting, staffing, background-check, or career-counseling service. We do not screen, score, rank, or evaluate candidates for any employer, and no employer receives anything from us. We do not promise, and cannot promise, a job, an interview, a callback, a salary, or any employment outcome. Hiring decisions belong to employers.
4. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under the law of the state where you live. The Service is not offered to anyone under 18. You are responsible for your login credentials and for all activity under your account, and you agree to tell us promptly at support@adaptiveresume.com if you suspect unauthorized access. An account is for one person. You may not share, transfer, or resell access to it. Use of the Service by or on behalf of an organization is governed by a separate commercial agreement, as described in Section 13. The Service is offered from the United States and is intended for users located in the United States; if you access it from somewhere else, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with the law that applies to you. Purchases are not currently offered to residents of New Jersey or Illinois; the free tools remain available everywhere in the United States, and we will update this Section when that changes.
5. Purchases, pricing, and payment
The Service is sold as a one-time purchase. The base build is $49 and the targeted build is $149, both in United States dollars. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal, so there is nothing for you to cancel. Your second build is 25 percent off and your third build and any build after that is 50 percent off; the discount applies to any repeat purchase on your account. We may change prices going forward, and the price shown at checkout is the price that applies to that purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe, and we never receive or store your card number. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. What you are buying is the build process and the documents it produces, not an interview, a job offer, or any other employment outcome.
6. Make-it-right and refunds
If your review does not give you anything useful, tell us and we will make it right. The process has three steps and you may start it at any time within 30 days after your build is delivered.
First, we rework the build with you. You tell us what missed, every line can be redone using your notes, and we will complete the rework within five business days after we receive them.
Second, if the reworked build still does not give you anything useful, we will give you a replacement credit for a fresh build at no charge.
Third, if the replacement build still does not give you anything useful, we will refund the full purchase price of the build at issue to your original payment method through Stripe, and we will issue the refund within ten business days after you ask for it. We will grant a refund at this third step unless one of the following is true, and if we decline we will tell you in writing which one applies: you did not complete the rework step or the replacement build; you asked for the refund more than 30 days after the replacement build was delivered; you have already received refunds for two prior builds on your account; or you obtained the build through a chargeback, a fraudulent payment, or a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
Separately from the make-it-right process, if you have not downloaded your finished documents you may request a full refund for any reason within 14 days of purchase, and we will honor it, unless the request results from a chargeback or a fraudulent payment, involves a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy, or reflects a pattern of reviewing the build's findings and then seeking this refund rather than a genuine problem with the build.
The make-it-right process is available once per purchased build. It is not a satisfaction guarantee or a money-back guarantee, and we do not describe it as one.
7. Your content and your responsibility
You confirm what is true. The Service proposes items and asks you to confirm, edit, or skip each one, and we never add a skill, credential, certification, or item of experience that you have not confirmed. Because you confirm every line, you are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of everything you confirm and of any resume you submit to an employer or to anyone else. We do not check your statements with employers, schools, licensing boards, or credentialing bodies, and we do not verify, endorse, or vouch for anything in your resume. When you download or export a finished document, you are confirming that every statement in it is true and that you have the right to make it. You also represent that you have the right to upload the files you provide, including any profile export such as your own LinkedIn resume export. We are not affiliated with LinkedIn or any other platform, and profile data enters the Service only as a file you choose to give us.
8. Ownership and license
Your content stays yours. You retain all rights to what you upload and to your finished resume, and we claim no ownership of your career history or your documents. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service to you, which includes extraction, redaction, AI-assisted analysis, assembly, storage, and delivery back to you, all consistent with the Privacy Policy. The Service itself is ours. The software, prompts, checks, designs, and content of the Service are owned by AdaptiveResume LLC or its licensors, and we grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own job search. You may not scrape, copy, reverse engineer, resell, or build a competing dataset or model from the Service. If you send us feedback or suggestions about the Service, we may use them without restriction and without owing you anything, and we will not identify you by name when we do.
9. AI-assisted service
The base and targeted builds use AI-assisted processing to prepare the suggestions you review. When you purchase a build, you are interacting with a generative artificial intelligence system, and we will confirm that any time you ask. Suggestions can be incomplete or imperfect. They are proposals for you to accept, edit, or reject, and they are never facts we have established or verified. AI-assisted output may contain errors, and you are responsible for reviewing your final document before you use it anywhere. On the targeted build, the posting-coverage list and the interview questions are grounded only in the posting and content you confirmed; they describe documents, not you, and are not predictions about how any employer will respond. The free scan and the demo do not use AI. Both run on fixed, rule-based logic, with no model called and nothing sent to any AI provider.
10. Acceptable use
Our Acceptable Use Policy is part of these Terms and is posted at adaptiveresume.com/acceptable-use. In summary: lawful use only; no attempt to make the Service fabricate credentials for identity or employment fraud; no abuse of the free scan, the demo, or the make-it-right process; no automated scraping, resale, or competing use; and no use of anything the Service generates to make a consequential decision about another person, including any decision about employment, education, housing, lending, insurance, health care, or government benefits.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, THE ACCURACY OF ANY SUGGESTION, OR ANY EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME. In plain language: we work hard to make this good, but we cannot lawfully promise perfection or a job. Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you; where that is so, any implied warranty is limited to the shortest period the law allows.
12. Limitation of liability; indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither you nor we will be liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost business or employment opportunities, even if the other was told such damages were possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service, taken together, will not exceed the greater of one hundred dollars or the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply to any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for our own fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence. Some states do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising out of statements you confirmed and included in a resume you submitted to an employer or to anyone else, or arising out of your violation of these Terms or of applicable law. We will notify you promptly of any such claim, we will not settle it without your consent, and you may control the defense with counsel of your choosing. This obligation does not apply to any claim arising from our own negligence or misconduct.
13. Organizational use
Use of the Service by or for an organization, including staffing agencies, outplacement firms, workforce boards, nonprofits, schools, and similar entities, is governed by a separate written commercial agreement and, where the organization provides personal information about other people, a separate data processing agreement. These consumer Terms do not authorize organizational use. Write to support@adaptiveresume.com to arrange a commercial agreement.
14. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or abuses the Service. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the price of any build you purchased but did not receive. The sections that by their nature should survive, including Sections 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 17, 18, and 19, survive termination.
15. Dispute resolution; governing law
Governing law. These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Service, are governed by the law of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution first. Before either of us starts a formal proceeding, the one with the complaint agrees to email support@adaptiveresume.com, or to write to the account email address, describing the dispute and what is wanted, and to allow 60 days to try to work it out. This step is a condition of filing, and any filing deadline is paused while it runs.
Arbitration. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and we agree that it will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except as stated below. These Terms involve interstate commerce, and the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. sections 1 through 16, governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration agreement. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, and we will pay all filing and arbitrator fees that exceed what it would have cost you to file the same claim in court. The arbitration may be conducted on documents alone, by telephone, or in person in the county where you live, at your election. The arbitrator may award any relief a court could award to you individually, including attorney's fees where a statute provides for them.
What is carved out. Either of us may bring a qualifying individual claim in small-claims court instead of arbitration. Either of us may also ask a court for an injunction to stop misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service. Nothing in this section prevents you from reporting a matter to any government agency.
Individual basis only. You and we each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims or preside over any class or representative proceeding. If this paragraph is held unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim, and only that claim, will proceed in court, and the rest of this section remains in force.
Coordinated filings. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us by or with the assistance of the same counsel or the same coordinated group, the demands will be resolved in batches of no more than 50, with one arbitrator per batch, and every filing deadline is paused for all demands in the queue until their batch is heard.
Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@adaptiveresume.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, giving your name, the email address on your account, and a statement that you are opting out. Opting out does not affect anything else in these Terms, and we will not treat it as a reason to refuse you service.
Court proceedings. For any dispute that is not subject to arbitration, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Cobb County, Georgia, and each of us waives any objection to that venue.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms going forward. For material changes we will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date and notify account holders by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date is acceptance of the updated Terms. Your purchase is governed by the Terms in effect at the time you made it.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service, and they replace any earlier understanding. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you. Neither of us is responsible for a delay caused by an event outside our reasonable control. Notices to us go to support@adaptiveresume.com, and notices to you go to the email address on your account.
18. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act at AdaptiveResume LLC, Attention: DMCA Agent, 8735 Dunwoody Place, Suite N, Atlanta, Georgia 30350, or at support@adaptiveresume.com. Your notice should identify the copyrighted work, identify the material you say is infringing and where it is located on the Service, give your name, address, telephone number, and email address, and include a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law, and a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
19. Notice to California users
